Alex turned 2 this week. He is a very active little guy, running around the house and playing with all his toys. At this time his favorite toys are wooden trains and cars. He carries his trains from one room to another. So far he can say mommy, dada, up, down, go, no, okay, puppy, banana, cookie, cracker, choo-choo, mine, car, hi, bye-bye and ball. He says puppy a lot, and almost any animal is a puppy. He also says "okay, okay, okay" when he wants something.
He just started watching Sesame Street and really enjoys the characters on the show. His other favorite programs are Miss Spider's Sunny Patch Kids, Oobi and Curious George. His favorite movies are Cars, A Bug's Life and Shark Tale. His favorite foods are bananas, apples, grapes, chicken nuggets, hotdogs, french fries and sausage. He also really loves ketchup - ketchup on everything!
His favorite toy is a blanket I made for him that he takes everywhere. He loves riding the carousel at the park and is starting to recognize animals and the sounds they make. Today at the zoo he saw a lion and made a 'roar'. He also knows that a sheep says 'baah' and a kitty cat says 'meow'.
His favorite pet is Maggie, our 9 pound Japanese Chin. He loves to hug her and feel her long, soft fur. He also likes our other dogs, especially Molly our bulldog, but his favorite dog is Maggie, probably due to her size.
Alex has started swimming, and really enjoys his time at the pool. I have taught him to 'blow bubbles' in the water, and he puts his face in the water all on his own! (most children won't put their faces in the water until they are older). He loves playing with his toys in the pool, especially his rubber duckies.
