Ok, I know I'm not the only one who watches soaps. The only two that I do watch is Days of Our Lives and Passions, both on NBC. I'm usually not at home when they come on, so I Tivo them (thank you Lord for Tivo!) and fast-forward through the 'stay at home mom' targeted commercials.
Days has been through a lot of changes recently, with character changes (letting established characters 'leave town', storyline changes, head writer changes, etc.) and frankly, it is getting a tad boring right now.
Sami's storylines are always similar, if not the same - although her who's the daddy storyline is a bit of a twist. Sami's always been a favorite character of mine, and what they should do is have her stand up to EJ, instead of being scared of him. Sami's no wilting violet - she needs to get EJ, and EJ needs to realize that he has met his match. Or maybe they should have Sami do something the audience would never expect - like tell Lucas the truth!
The whole Mrs. Robinson storyline between Billie and Nick is different, and now that Chelsea knows her mom slept with her 'kind of' new boyfriend, she's going to go back to being a total brat. Let's hope the writers make this a good storyline, instead of just having her go back to doing her same old bratty tricks.
And Abby pining over Max, when he is such a loser, is pathetic. Max has been with Chelsea, Stephanie and Mimi iwithin a few months and now Abby wants to be his girlfriend? Wh-wh-wh-what!? Since there isn't a lot of characters left - all the characters hook up with each other at least once. It is like 'round-robin' dating.
Meanwhile, John is in a coma and missing a kidney, while Steve is in the state mental asylum, and Kayla is running around town crying every five minutes. Kayla needs to grow a friggin' backbone.
They brought Steve and Kayla back to the show - apparently they were big in the 80s before I watched the show. Mike used to watch Days in college, because his sister watched it, and he recognized Steve ("Patch" - cause he has a pirate patch over his eye) and Kayla. But I must say, they are a bit boring as a couple. Kind of like Jack and Jennifer - Jack was such a moron, always getting in trouble and scheming - he drove me nuts. I don't know why Jennifer got back together with him - he always irritated her with his scheming and lies.
I could go on and on, since there is so much to talk about, but until they do something really exciting, I'll reserve comment.
