Today josiejunk, Alex and I went hiking.  I was very excited to try out my new baby carrier on the hike - it is a big backpack-type carrier for toddlers.  It was a beautiful day and we had a good time.  Alex was a bit crabby, and a bit heavy, but by the end of the hike he was fast asleep.  On the trail we saw 2 jackrabbits.  Jackrabbits are big old rabbits with huge ears.  They are much bigger than your typical cotton-tail bunny.

There were a few other hikers out on the trial today.  I also saw horseshoe prints and tell-tale signs that a horse or two had been along the trail recently.  We didn't see any coyotes today, which was a good thing.  Last time I went hiking I saw a pack of coyotes on the trail.
