I'm beat. I just got back from a skiing trip and my body hurts! We went on our annual ski trip with Mike's sister's family, and this time we went to Winter Park, Colorado. We got in on Thursday, which was good, because on Friday they had closed the Interstate due to snow, high winds (60-100 mph) and the chance of avalanche. By noon on Friday, Winter Park shut down all their lifts due to the high winds and white-out conditions. People that had drove up for the day were stuck without hotel reservations, and employees of WP had to find a place to crash for the night if they couldn't drive home.
However, Saturday was beautiful and sunny, and the lifts were all open and uncrowded since the Interstate had yet to be opened. We all had so much fun - I took another lesson and am getting much better at skiing. I mainly stick to Blue runs - and might try a Blue-Black if it looks okay. What I really want to learn is how to do jumps and tricks. The rail parks look like a lot of fun.
Some of the kids out on the mountain were really good skiers. This weekend they had the Junior Olympic trials, and those kids were so good! That's what happens if you start skiing at 3! I on the other hand started skiing in my 20's, then went for 10 years without skiing. Mike and I really want to get Alex on skis as soon as he is able, so by the time he is 7 he will be better than both of us!
